TIRANA, September 28 – The Exhibition of Historical Sino-Albanian Photographs was launched on Tuesday at the National Historical Museum in Tirana in cooperation between the Embassy of China in Albania, the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Tirana within the framework of the Chinese Culture Week and the 73th anniversary of the establishment of the People’s Republic of China.

The event was attended by the former President, Ilir Meta, the vice-mayor of the Municipality of Tirana, Keti Luarasi, the former foreign minister, Arta Dade, diplomats, former ambassadors of Albania to China, the director of the “Confucius” institute in University of Tirana, researchers and citizens of Tirana.

China’s ambassador to Albania, Zhou Ding, said that China and Albania wrote together a wonderful poem of friendship in the 60s-70s of the last century. According to Ambassador Zhou, it was a period when the two peoples became closely connected and befriended each other.

The ambassador said that the photos of the exhibition focused on the precious moments of Chinese-Albanian friendship displaying exciting images of friendly exchanges and showed the touching story between the two peoples transcending politics and ideology.

The director of the National Historical Museum, Dorian Koçi, described as a special pleasure the opening of the photo exhibition in the frame of the Week of Chinese Culture in Tirana. According to him, many people find themselves in the presented photos during the many visits made over the years during the close Albanian-Chinese friendship, which has continued with the mutual respect between the two peoples.

“Today, China and Albania are reliable partners in all the appropriate instruments where the voice of both countries is heard. We have often had fruitful collaborations with the Embassy of China, to convey the common cultural treasures throughout all these years,” said the director of the National Museum.

Spartak Nano, the head of Albania-China Friendship Association said in his speech that the ambassador of China in Albania has a special merit for promoting bilateral relations with the twinned regions.

According to him, the Week of Chinese Culture that is taking place in Tirana will serve even more for the recognition of art and culture and the further links of relations between China and Albania.

The Week of Chinese Culture will continue with other activities and will end on October 2. /Argumentum.al
