TIRANA – “The pandemic cannot be falsified or covered up by propaganda. The government’s politicization of any call for help from citizens or accountability from the opposition is a criminal act,” has said a senior Democratic Party (DP) official.
In a response on Wednesday to the aggravation of the dimensions of the COVID-19 pandemic the former Democrat MP, Grida Duma called on the government to give up imaginary successes, and not to manipulate pandemic figures, as the pandemic can neither be falsified nor covered up by propaganda.
A daily bulletin of Health Ministry released on Wednesday showed that 3 persons passed away mounting to 208 the fatalities in Albania while the number of the new infections was 141 in the last 24 hours, the highest rate ever hit since the outbreak of the C19 disease on March 8 this year. The total number of positive cases stands at 6,817 as there are 3,057 active cases across this Balkan country. Total tests are 47,676 a figure considered low in face of the spread of the disease by specialists and opposition.
According to the DP official, the requirements towards the government are minimal for accountability and management to save human lives. But as Ms. Duma said the government overdoes its efforts to save its own face in front of what is happening in Albania.
“It’s indispensable self attention of every one because the hopes in this government are empty illusions,” she said./argumentum.al
