TIRANA – Albania’s PM Edi Rama, who is also OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, has extended his congratulations for the normalization of the relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. Rama wrote on Twitter on Thursday that the accord was inspiring and looked forward that it would also inspire others in the region to follow that path.
US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that Israel and the United Arab Emirates would establish “full normalization of relations” and that in exchange Israel would forgo for now “declaring sovereignty” over occupied West Bank territory. He said the deal would normalize diplomatic relations and begin cooperation in areas such as security, trade and tourism.
Rama called the US, Israel and UAE the “three excellent friends of Albania”.
“This is truly inspiring and I wish with all my heart that it will inspire others in the region to follow the same spirit and work together on a great common future for all their people. Congratulations to the three excellent friends of Albania (USA, Israel and the Emirates),” Rama wrote on Twitter.
Rama did not mention the OSCE in his statement on the accord although he is the Chairperson-in-Office of the Organization. /argumentum.al
