TIRANA – “In this unusual situation the task and responsibility of everybody is to respect the simple rules for protecting themselves and the relatives,” said in the daily update Dr. Flutura Beqo from Health Ministry, who announced on Sunday that 3 infected people passed away while the number of the affected persons by coronavirus was 120 in the last 24 hours.
According to her, there are 125 patients at the hospitals of the infected diseases and “Shefqet Ndroqi” in Tirana, and 15 of them are in intensive therapy while 5 are intubated. She said that 626 tests were performed in all the country.
Given the continued spread of the disease the Democratic Party senior official, Tritan Shehu said Albania has been labeled as “the Covid black sheep” in Europe. “One of the main causes of the situation is the low number of tests and the blockage of the private laboratories to make tests causing an unimaginable harm of the health system,” said Shehu, a former health minister.
According to him, the health crisis has brought about the international isolation of Albania highlighting what is happening at the border crossings with Greece where thousands upon thousands of people are stranded.
One of his proposals to overcome the situation was the achievement of an accord with Greece for Albania to make tests at the four main border crossings with that country.
“Rama cannot hide his responsibility behaving like an UFO which has just arrived in Albania,” said Shehu. /argumentum.al
