In preparation of the general elections, the Ministry of Interior has published the final list of voters who will be eligible to cast their ballots on April 25, 2021 in Albania.
According to the data provided by the General Directorate of Civil Status, 3,588,869 Albanian citizens have the right to vote of which 50.5 percent are male voters and 49.5 percent are female voters. Details given by a press release issued on Wednesday show that 107,024 voters vote for the first time while 1,098 citizens are not allowed to vote because of the decriminalization law.
The Ministry emphasized that this whole process of compiling the final list of voters was carried out under the supervision of technical auditors of the Central Elections Commission (CEC). At each stage, auditors have had the same access as the Director General of Civil Status to the National Civil Registry. It is reported that the total number of polling stations is 5,199 nationwide.
The Ministry of Interior states that every citizen is asked to verify his name in the voter list through the online service on the portal “e-albania” and they can contact the Civil Registry offices in municipalities and administrative units, which will continue to remain open from Monday, until Saturday, for any claim.
“So, the final list of voters completes the process of drafting and announcing the Voters’ List. DPGJC in each municipality, as so far, will continue to fulfill any legal obligation, deriving from the Electoral Code of the Republic of Albania, for the preparation of the electoral infrastructure,” said the above statement.

In conclusion an appeal was made to any citizen who possesses a biometric document, identity card or passport, whose validity has expired, to contact the application offices, to be provided with these documents in order to have the opportunity to express their will on April, 25 this year. /argumentum. al
