Albania is the only NATO member participating in the Anatolian 21 military exercise hosted by Turkish Special Forces in Ankara, along with Azerbaijan, Qatar, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan, Anadolu Agency reported on Monday.
Kosovo and Mongolia are currently observers in the exercise.
Turkey and Albania are cooperating closely on defence matters, according to Ibrahim Kalin, spokesperson for Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan. “Albania’s peace and stability means Turkey’s peace and stability, and the Balkans’ peace and stability,” the spokesperson added.
Earlier Kalin said in Tirana the two countries held official talks for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s preparations for an Albanian visit in the coming months. /argumentum.al
