Freedom Party’s head warns of technical government in September, calls for convening Parliament now

TIRANA, August 11 – Preparations for the creation of a technical government in Albania will begin in September, the Chairman of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta declared in a press conference on Thursday.

Asked about the position of the head of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla regarding legal intervention to review the certificate of purity of the image of anyone who has got involved in politics, Meta said that there was a very serious objection to this initiative because there are other jobs in Albania in September.

“We will work for a technical government, because we have to deal with the issue of negotiations (with the EU), because there is no chance of making any progress with this government. My point is this. Parliament should convene now,” said Meta.

Meta, a former president, said that, “in the case of I.M, the situation is very dramatic because it is 1000% proven that a serious violation of the constitutional order has occurred. In this case, it is very clearly proven that during the time that Ilir Meta was President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and all the attributes that the President of the Republic has, the head (PM Edi Rama) of Tao Tao (Taulant Balla) ordered and guaranteed protection to the proven collaborator of the State Security N.L , distinguished as a poly-agent and a former secret agent A.H, who in cooperation with other people have very clearly and very naively manipulated the file of the citizen F.T, who is also an American citizen,” said Meta.

Further he said that if (Speaker) Lindita (Nikolla) of the Albanian Parliament is not shocked again by these stories with I.M, many congressmen and senators will probably be surprised of how it is dared after 33 years to criminally manipulate the file of the prosecution of a young man at that time, 19 years in an attempt to flee and today an American and Albanian citizen, just to implicate and hit the President of the Republic politically, said Meta.

“The dimensions of this scandal will be immense for (PM) Edvin Kristaq Rama. He has not crossed the red lines, but he has also crossed the black lines,” said Meta.

“I will go to the parliament myself, to the plenary session. I need three cards with me to show them there. Let them also bring the members of the File Handling Authority,” said Meta.
