TIRANA, January 20 – On the 32nd anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Party (DP) in the Elbasan branch, the head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, has expressed his support for the DP candidate for this municipality, Luciano Boçi.
Albania will hold local power elections on May 14 this year.
Meta, a former president, said on Friday that the agreement between DP and FP is to raise accountability at the national level, while he expressed confidence that the candidates to run in the local power elections in Elbasan, Tirana and Durrës will triumph in the May 14 elections.
“The economic model, that of money laundering and abandoning agriculture, see how the local beer industry is going bankrupt, what insistence there is on fiscal amnesty, to finally destroy the business in the country,” said Meta.
“We are in the center of education, and you know that every year new branches are closed at the University of Elbasan. The criminal waste organization inflates fictitious costs for public investment, for roads that are never built. Therefore, May 14 is an excellent moment to restore accountability at the national level, this is the essence of the agreement that FP and DP have,” he said.
