TIRANA, June 29 – The transition of online services from May 1 has brought problems to businesses. As many as 225 member companies of the American Chamber of Commerce (ACC) complained about the non-functioning of online services during a meeting with the General Director of Customs, Gent Gazheli on Wednesday. According to the chairwoman of the American Chamber of Commerce Tax Committee, access to E-Albania for businesses is not working.
“We are all suffering from the online system currently because the system has been installed in other administrations since May 1 and there are problems that they are feeling and have not been solved yet,” said Alketa Uruci.
Customs Director acknowledged the problems that have occurred due to the transition to online services but said it is being worked with the National Agency of Information Association (NAIA) to fix the system.
“We are working with NAIA but also with the structures that maintain the system for capacity expansion. It is true that there may have been problems but I assure you that the processing capacity of statements in the system has increased so I think that in the future there will be no problem,” he said.
But this is not the only problem faced by businesses with customs. The reference price has remained one of the concerns of the business community for years.
“It is an issue that ultimately needs a solution and our vision is for reference prices to be completely eliminated because they are old and backward methods,” said Enio Jaco, ACC President.
