The Albanian State Police announced that several institutions in different cities across the country have received threatening emails claiming that bombs had been planted inside their premises.
The Albanian State Police said that this morning, several institutions in different cities across Albania received an email from an as-yet unidentified address containing threatening and terrorist-related content, claiming that bombs had been placed inside the institutions.
According to the police, immediately after receiving the information, State Police units began carrying out all necessary checks at the institutions mentioned in the threats.
“Based on the checks conducted so far, no bomb or any other type of explosive device has been found,” the police said.
Meanwhile, the Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrime, in cooperation with the Directorate of Anti-Terrorism and other law enforcement agencies, is continuing intensive efforts to identify the perpetrator and trace the email address from which the threats were sent.
The Albanian State Police assured citizens that there is no reason to panic and that its structures remain fully engaged in ensuring public order and security, as well as preventing and combating illegal activities.
