TIRANA, November 4 – Just a few days after the closing of the general population census in Serbia, a delegation from the municipality of Presevo Valley was received by President Bajram Begaj in Tirana on Friday.
Begaj appreciated the seriousness and maturity with which the Albanians and the political parties of the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvegja showed this time about the process of the general population census in Serbia and welcomed the high participation especially in the first two municipalities.
Appreciating the spirit of cooperation demonstrated by all Albanian actors and political factors in the Presevo Valley, Begaj stressed that cooperation brought a more accurate and fair registration of Albanians living in this region of Serbia.
“This serves the status of Albanians in these municipalities and makes them a stronger factor in the defense of their rights and freedoms in Serbia, which must be in full compliance with international standards and European best practices,” he underlined.
After assessing the new positive climate and regional cooperation as a whole, as well as the increased attention of the European Union to the Western Balkan region, the head of state assured the delegation of the municipality of Presevo that the Albanians of the Presevo Valley would always find in him and Albania’s institutions a strong and determined supporter for the full realization of their rights. /Argumentum.al
