The alternate chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Enkelejd Alibeaj expressed his conviction that the largest right- wing party could not be led by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha after being designated as persona “non grata” by the US State Department because party’s interest is harmed because of that something which prevents it to come to power.
In a statement to the media on Friday, Alibeaj said that the court decision which made made on Friday to recognize the Assembly of December 11 and its decisions was given in complete violation of laws, facts, evidence and a lawsuit would be filed with the judge, who made that ruling accusing him of abuse of power. According to Alibeaj, the illegal decision was beyond the limits of a scandal. An appeal will be filed against that decision and in the end it will be the court which will finally decide regarding the legal aspect, he said.
As far as the meeting held on Friday with former Prime Minister Sali Berisha is concerned, Alibeaj announced that Berisha claimed that the court decision is final. But the temporary DP head said that he had asked Berisha to resign in the same way as Basha did. /Argumentum.al
