TIRANA, November 18 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) Sali Berisha has proposed the date when the next opposition protest against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama will be held in Tirana.
He said at the start of the meeting of the chairmanship on Friday that the next DP protest will be on December 6, the same day when the Western Balkans-EU summit will be held in Tirana.
“DP should protest with all its power against Rama and his multi-billion affairs, including the last one related to the Port of Durrës. The DP battle is a battle for the existence of democracy in Albania and this is the truth,” said Berisha.
According to him, it should not be forgotten that when all institutions are controlled and end up in the hands of one party, this is a mono-party state in all definitions or a dictatorship of one party. And this is true in Albania.
“Therefore, the November 12 protest must necessarily be continued with other protests, and I think December 6 is an opportunity for the opposition people to raise their voice in front of the whole world,” said Berisha, a former PM.
Among other things, Berisha said that European leaders should take this protest as an act of welcome, while it will be a hostile act for the government.
“Our protest aims first of all to prove that in this country, which is being impoverished, stolen, abandoned every day and every month, democratic aspirations are immortal, they are strong. Therefore, I invite Europeans to take this as an act of hospitality towards them, and unquestionably hostile, flagrant, towards Edi Rama, who shames every person and every nation with his affairs,” said Berisha. /Argumentum.al
