TIRANA, May 29 – The body of the former President of Albania, Bujar Nishani is expected to arrive in Albania next Tuesday.
After his death on Saturday at the Charite University Hospital in Berlin, the medical staff and relatives of the deceased are dealing with special procedures that enable the bringing of the body of the former President to Albanian Capital Tirana, where he will be buried.
It is learned that the procedures can be completed on Monday and it is expected that the body will arrive in Tirana on Tuesday.
The government has announced that an official funeral will be held for the late president.
Former President of Albania Bujar Nishani, 56, passed away on Saturday as he had been hospitalized in serious condition for weeks in a hospital in Germany. Nishani was taken to Germany for treatment after suffering from bilateral pneumonia with respiratory insufficiency as a result of complications caused by Covid-19. The former head of state’s health situation worsened after he was infected with coronavirus a few months ago.
