TIRANA – While Albania’s borders have been closed with all neighboring countries as restriction to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection a question is raised by the deputy head of the opposition Socialist Movement for Integration (LSI) party, Petrit Vasili regarding the monitoring protocol of passengers entering Albania from abroad through Rinas airport when the entire Europe has been hit by coronavirus infection.
“As many as 10 aircrafts, coming from different countries of Europe, entered Albania through Rinas airport on Sunday. All the countries from where they come are strongly affected by the coronavirus pandemic,” said Vasili in a post on his FB account on Sunday.
“How is the compulsory quarantine of these passengers of high infection risk being monitored? Who checks foreigners who come with these planes where they are quarantined and do they apply the quarantine correctly?” asked the SMI senior official Vasili, a former health minister.
In addition he noted that while borders with different countries are closed these passenger aircrafts still come from highly affected states. Vasili said that Rinas airport is a potential danger for the spread of Covid-19 and immediate action should be taken at Albania’s only international airport in face of the serious situation. /argumentum.al
