TIRANA, July 3 – Deputy Ervin Salianji has held a meeting with the structures of the Democratic Party (DP) in Korca, where he clarified the directives on the protest that will take place in front of the Prime Minister’s Office in Tirana on July 7.
After listing to the attendees the reasons why they should participate in the protest called by the head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, he also spoke about the court session of the “Babale” case, where he has to appear in court again on Monday.
“Tomorrow I will be there, I will be present at the (court) session as I have done every other time. Justice in this country is obstructed, delayed, there are no investigations, there are no confrontations, but there are accusations against journalists and people who denounce. I will be there tomorrow, but now the focus is on the protest,” said Salianji on Sunday.
According to him, the majority of the parliamentary group has expressed the position that it will be part of the protest. “(Enkelejd) Alibeaj and (Gazmend) Bardhi have their own positions, it depends on where they put the objective and the focus, everyone has reasons to protest against (PM Edi) Rama. My positions are public,” said Salianji who has been a supporter of former DP head Lulzim Basha. The latter has been dismissed from his post by the group of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
A protest organized by former PM Berisha and Democratic Party he leads has on its agenda the severe economic situation in Albania due to the skyrocketing prices.
