TIRANA, August 29 – The chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, has repeated the accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama of being behind the affair of the project for the construction of the Port of Durrës.
In a news conference on Monday, Berisha called on the European Union to start investigations into what he described as one of the most corrupt affairs in Europe.
“I ask the EU to start an investigation into the corruption affair of the port of Durrës and to do everything so that this port remains a strategic port of the region and the EU,” said Berisha, a former premier.
Further he also asked the businessman, Al Abbar to withdraw from the construction of the Port of Durrës.
“I ask Edi Rama to give up trying to build his family’s Dubai in Durrës. I guarantee that it will not happen and I ask Al Abbar to give up the project and not be used by the most corrupt prime minister of all time in Albania,” said Berisha.
According to him, Prime Minister Rama will acquire over 1 million square meters of land from the construction of the Port of Durres through this company and the value of the acquired land is worth 3 billion euros.
