TIRANA – The Ambassadors of France and Germany, Jean-Louis Falconi and Thomas Schieb, met on Thursday with Marko Djuric, Director of the so-called “Office for Kosovo” in the Government of Serbia, with whom they discussed the rapid resumption of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, especially after the formation of the new government in Kosovo, Gazeta Express reported.
Paris and Berlin have welcomed the commitment of Miroslav Lajcak and Josep Borell to facilitate dialogue and reach an agreement that will be a long-term deal contributing to the stability of the region.
“During the meeting, the two ambassadors called for a speedy resumption of dialogue between Pristina and Belgrade, especially after the formation of the new government in Kosovo. They welcomed the EU’s efforts to facilitate dialogue through Commissioner Miroslav Lajcak and EU High Representative Josep Borell to reach a legally binding, long-term agreement that would contribute to regional stability, ” it is said in a press release issued by the French Embassy in Serbia, reports Gazeta Expres.
The two ambassadors said that France and Germany are ready to contribute to the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue in all possible ways.
The French ambassador even mentioned the readiness of France to organize the Paris Summit, after the organization of the Berlin Summit in April 2019.
The two ambassadors also expressed hope that Kosovo would remove non-tariff barriers to Serbian products and called on both sides to refrain from actions that damage the atmosphere of cooperation, in order to create conditions for the resumption of dialogue. /argumentum.al
