TIRANA – The government is reportedly working to draft a package of measures that will help businesses which are being hurt by the impact of the interruption of their activity due to the coronavirus epidemics.
A task force has been set up to review the requests that groups of entrepreneurs have presented to Finance Ministry and Premier’s office, local media quotes confidential sources as having told Klan TV.
Representatives of some business associations have recently held a meeting with the Finance Minister, Anila Denaj and Minister of State for Entrepreneurship Eduart Shalsi to consider the demands and problems encountered during the days when a part of transport is paralyzed and some sectors should remain closed.
So far the government has agreed to postpone the deadline for submitting the annual balances of the businesses beyond March 31, while it is working on a package to defer payment of part of the taxes by entrepreneurs. Earlier the government put off the payment of installments by businesses.
The associations have asked the government to consider the possibility of treating the quarantined employees under the status of health leave, or pay social contributions of businesses such as bars and restaurants which should remain closed during this period.
