TIRANA – “Today in a very well-organized session the new government was voted, I am very pleased that finally after more than a month of work we have put together a program that addresses the most urgent needs of the state of Kosovo, which is war against this pandemic,” said on Wednesday the new Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti after the vote of the Government by Parliament.
Hoti told journalist that there will be a change in public discourse in the country, and that he will also cooperate with the opposition.
The 120-member parliament voted the Hoti coalition government composed of LDK-AAK-Nisma-minorities with 61 votes while there were 24 votes against and 1 abstention.
“Today I have given my promises to the deputies to change the public discourse in the country, to return normalcy and security in our daily lives and to return and strengthen our international friendships, I am aware of the challenges we have, I am convinced of the coalition we have built. We will stand up for this country, working with the opposition,” he said.
In the meantime, the US Embassy in Pristina in a prompt reaction extended congratulations to the new government looking forward to working with it.
“Congratulations on the peaceful formation of the new government. We look forward to working with the Hoti government to continue important work on peace, justice, and prosperity, including efforts to strengthen regional relations and combat COVID-19,” said the US Embassy in a note posted on FB on Wednesday. /argumentum.al
