Hoti Rebuffs Vucic Refuting Any Accord without Serbia’s Recognition of Kosovo

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Avdullah Hoti has been sharp and cut responding to Friday’s statement of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic who said that as long as he is President until April 2022 Belgrade will not recognize Pristina.
President Hoti declared on Saturday that
Vucic’s statement does not contribute to the dialogue. He assured that without mutual recognition of Kosovo-Serbia, there is no agreement on which a dialogue can take place.
A day earlier, Vucic said that as long as he is President, Serbia does not recognize Kosovo, while his term ends in April 2022.
“After that, it is the people who will decide,” Vucic said in an interview with the Serbian television Prva.
With this statement, he may have alluded to holding a referendum on the issue, Radio Free Europe reports. Also Vucic said that no one in the West thinks that Kosovo is not independent.
“Washington’s opinion, no matter who is in power, will not change, although the relationship was somewhat different (during the Donald Trump administration),” Vucic said.
But Hoti said there is no agreement with Serbia without mutual recognition adding that Kosovo remains committed to concluding all open issues with Serbia through the EU-mediated dialogue taking place in Brussels.
“Statements that our northern neighbor will not recognize Kosovo’s independence do not contribute to the dialogue. The dialogue has resumed on clear principles for final agreements on normalization of relations and mutual recognition, and there will be no partial agreement. If there is no mutual recognition, then there will be no agreement either,” said Hoti. /argumentum.al
