TIRANA, November 4 – Deputy of the Democratic Party (DP) Jorida Tabaku has warned of strong actions by the prosecution authority for serious crimes, SPAK, regarding the notorious incinerator affair. Tabaku was called to SPAK, where he was asked for more than 3 hours about incinerators on Friday. She was summoned as a complainant after submitting a lawsuit to SPAK as the chairperson of the investigative commission for incinerators. She also filed similar lawsuits earlier. Tabaku gave explanations on all the documents she submitted to SPAK, while declaring that the investigations have advanced significantly.
“There are 500 accused who appeared before the investigative commission and over 150 facts or groups of facts that we submitted to SPAK,” she said, adding that she was asked about the Fier and Tirana incinerators case on Friday.
The affair of the incinerators is one of the sensational files that SPAK has in hand. As part of it, the former Minister of Environment, Lefter Koka and the former deputy, Alqi Blako were arrested. The latter was released a few days.
Meanwhile, the signals are that SPAK is now focused on the Tirana incinerator. Tabaku also spoke about the accused persons. “According to the Code of Criminal Procedure, a structured criminal group is more than 5 people who have committed several criminal acts. The persons we are accused are Minister Gjiknuri, Minister Ahmetaj, Agaçi, the mayors of Tirana, Fier, Durrës, Alqi Bllako and second and third level officials. There are 60 people accused in the incinerator scheme. We have included the Prime Minister of Albania (Edi Rama) as the person who should have known about this group and the main responsibility for us is the Albanian government and all those involved in decision-making,” said Tabaku. /Argumentum.al
