TIRANA, November 12 – The opposition held a protest in the “Nation’s Martyrs” boulevard in front of the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday evening. The protest was called by the head of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha and the Opposition Front under the motto “Albania in danger, let’s protect it together”. The head of the Freedom Party (FP), Ilir Meta, along with members and sympathizers of this political force, took part in it. The opposition protest was joined by sympathizers and citizens from several cities of the country.
The State Police partially blocked several road segments in Tirana in the framework of measures to guarantee order and security, before, during and after the end of the protest.
The vice-chairman of the Democratic Party, Luciano Boçi, declared that what had gathered them in that square was not just today, it was the future of their children, families, and fatherland.
“I know well the will of your anger and that’s why we are here today. We are in our march for the overthrow of this government and this prime minister,” he said.
The member of the National Council of DP, Rudina Hajdari said that this is not a battle protest between parties but for all Albanians.
“This is not an ideological battle, it is not a war between militants, but it is a battle of all Albanians on the one hand and the club of billionaires led by Edi Rama on the other,” she said. /Argumentum.al
