President Bajram Begaj today received the new Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Albania, Marleen Monster, on the occasion of the presentation of her Letters of Credence.
President Begaj reaffirmed Albania’s strong commitment to further deepening relations with the Netherlands, as an important European partner and a reliable ally within NATO.
During the meeting, the two sides highlighted that political relations between the two countries are excellent, while economic relations have also reached a high level.
The Head of State expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of the Netherlands for the assistance it has provided to Albania over the years in the fields of defense, law enforcement, the rule of law, democratic institutions, civil society and the media.
Particular importance was given to Albania’s European integration process. Through Ambassador Monster, the President conveyed Albania’s appreciation for the Netherlands’ support for the country’s EU accession process and welcomed Dutch expertise and assistance in helping Albania achieve its ambition of becoming a member of the European Union by 2030.
President Begaj wished Ambassador Monster success during her mandate and emphasized the readiness of Albanian institutions to provide full support and cooperation.
