TIRANA, November 28 – The President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, held a reception ceremony today on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the declaration of Independence.
In this ceremony, high state authorities, representatives of the Diplomatic Body, representatives of political forces, religious communities, culture, art and media came together to celebrate together the national holidays in this jubilee year of the appropriation of Albania.
In the speech delivered on this occasion, President Begaj said that November 28 is the date that brings together, with thoughts and hearts, every Albanian and every friend of Albanians.
During his speech, President Begaj said that this day has brought Albania one step closer to the European Union.
He added that the time has come to ensure the vote of the diaspora, as well as to pay special attention to the development of education, health and agriculture.
The President did not miss a call to the parliamentarians, for whom he said that in parliamentary life they should be guided by compromise and not by confrontation.
“We are lucky to have two Albanian states in the region. Cooperation with Kosovo should be as close and complementary as possible. We have even more to do to rise to the level of our citizens’ expectations. The Albanian factor has emerged in a new light in regional and international relations.
Our diplomatic engagement must go hand in hand with the improvement of political life at home and abroad. Albania competes with other countries in terms of its human resources. The economy has seen good growth and attention should be paid to health, agriculture and education.
It is also the moment to ensure the vote of the diaspora and its political representation with the electoral reform. Albania is built with faith and love for this land. The future is not expected, it is built.
I call on the representatives in the Assembly to work for an Albania that has the best interest of everyone and in parliamentary life to be guided by compromise and not by confrontation”, said Begaj, among other things, during his speech.
