TIRANA, July 10 – President Bajram Begaj decreed the appointment of Taulant Balla Minister of the Interior on Tuesday.
The decree followed the proposal of Prime Minister Edi Rama, who announced the dismissal of Bledi Çuçi as Minister of the Interior through a post on social networks on Saturday afternoon.
In the meantime, the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha said that “the appointment of Taulant Balla as the head of the Ministry of the Interior ultimately hands the public order into the hands of organized crime gangs.”
Berisha stressed that the appointment of Balla followed the barbaric incident in Fushë-Kruja which was not condemned by Rama.
According to him, “Taulant Balla is the most incriminated politician, the most accused in 32 years of concrete, direct strong links with drug trafficking, mafia murders and other crimes.”
Berisha said that for the first time in the history of the Albanian state, a person like Balla who currently has two open criminal investigations, one national and the other international, is appointed minister. /argumentum.al
