TIRANA, June 11 – Citizen Aleksandër Sadikaj, 27 years old, died as a result of injuries caused by the explosion of the car he was driving. The explosion took place in Unaza e Madhe (Big Ring Road) in Tirana on the axis leading to Elbasan. The young man was initially injured and taken to hospital, but he could not survive the severe wounds and lost his life.
“We inform you that: As a result of the injuries received, the driver of the vehicle, citizen A. S. passed away in the hospital,” said the police in a second notification on Saturday.
The 27-year-old was traveling in a “Benz” type car, which exploded while moving. Police suspect an explosive device was placed in the car. It is also thought to have exploded with remote control.
“On 11.06.2022, at 13:35, near TEG, the vehicle type” Benz “, driven by the citizen A. S., 27 years old, exploded, suspected of explosives”, announced the police.
Investigators suspect that the explosion placed in Aleksandër Sadikaj’s car was activated by remote control. This track has led to the other suspicion that the perpetrator/s were not far from the scene due to the mechanism required by the explosion of the tritol with the remote control.
The victim Sadikaj has been prosecuted earlier for an assassination attempt. However, there was no sentence against him. He also had a criminal record for theft and drugs. The explosion which happened at two o’clock in the afternoon in an area which is popular for the citizens of Tirana has caused panic. /Argumentum.al
