TIRANA, October 15 – Ilir Meta and Sali Berisha, heads of Freedom Party and Democratic Party, have done nothing to stop the approval of Dick Marty’s resolution on Kosovo, said the Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party (SP) Taulant Balla in an interview on Saturday.
Balla called it a scandal that a representative of the Berisha government voted for this resolution in the Council of Europe in 2011.
The speech of Albanian PM Edi Rama in Strasbourg a few days ago has awakened an institution that has fallen asleep for 11 years, said Balla, the number two in SP. According to him, the government of that time headed by Sali Berisha, current chairman of the Democratic Party, did nothing to prevent the adoption of its resolution.
Balla said the two governments of Albania and Kosovo continue their close cooperation. “In November, we will not only have the joint meeting of the two governments, but in fact we will also have the joint session of the Parliament of Albania and the Parliament of Kosovo on November 27,” said Balla.
