TIRANA, November 5 – The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, has announced that the Civil Emergency teams and the Armed Forces continue without stopping the commitment to manage the situation created by the severe weather. According to him, there is no expansion of the map of affected areas by the heavy rainfall.
Peleshi said that work is being done to return to normality the road axis that connects the city of Gjirokastra with the villages of Karjan, Mingul and Gjat, blocked due to heavy rains.
In the meantime intensive work is being done to repair the bridge that was damaged in the village of Panarit In the district of Korça, the minister said.
Also, Peleshi said that the situation in Dibra and Lezha regions is being monitored with maximum attention, where there are road blockages due to the rains that continue with high intensity. There are no reports of inundations in the Shkodra region which has often been hit by floods because of river Drin.
Peleshi expressed maximum commitment to avoid any danger to human lives and living stock.
In addition he announced that the working groups of the energy entity, OSHEE are continuing to be on the ground for the elimination of defects and the reconnection of energy in remote areas of Albania. /argumentum.al
