TIRANA, June 5 – President Ilir Meta held a meeting with opposition leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu as part of his official visit to Turkey.
Meta said that they discussed the strengthening of traditional and friendly relations between the two countries and peoples during the meeting.
“The meeting in Istanbul with the leader of the opposition in Turkey, the chairman of the Republican Party, Kemal Kilicdaroglu was warm and friendly. It was a pleasure to hold an open and very fruitful discussion on the existing extraordinary potentials for the strengthening of traditional and friendly relations between our two countries and peoples, “said Meta.
He considered Kilcidaroglu a sincere friend of Albania and the Albanian people and he had confirmed his will that strengthening the friendship and strategic partnership between Albania and Turkey is a comprehensive and long-term interest of the two peoples and will be a priority of his commitment.
Meta announced that he had invited the leader of the Turkish opposition for an official visit to Albania.
