TIRANA, December 23 – The Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha reacted on Friday after the defeat in the Assembly of the two candidacies presented by the Democratic Party for the People’s Advocate.
In a press conference, Berisha said that the parliament ended the year in the most monist way.
“All powers, except for the mayor of Shkodra, now go to the government. All the candidacies that were on the list to be voted on were the most dignified,” said Berisha.
He mentioned names like Besim Ndregjoni, Altin Goxhaj, well-known lawyers, representatives of the new generation such as Dorian Gjokmarkaj and Ilir Dervishi, but those candidacies were rejected only because Edi Rama did not accept any of them, except for the one he wanted.
“What you saw in this process was, I would say, the most shameful process, with which Edi Rama openly sought to conquer the only institution that he does not control. In the tradition of this country and other countries, the principle of the People’s Advocate appointed by the opposition has been respected,” said Berisha.
According to him, Rama used the same scheme as in the case of the election of the new president. /Argumentum.al
