Academician Baçe Unveils Russian “Sputnik V” Vaccine Being Supplied Illegally in Albania

Albania is already in the second week of vaccination with those few vaccines that have arrived enigmatically. Only the medical staff, who are on the front lines of the fight with the Covid virus are getting the first doses of the vaccine.
Meanwhile, there are many ongoing debates regarding the way how these vaccines have come to Albania but also about the contract that the state of this Balkan country has signed with the Pfizer company on the anti-covid vaccines, which is strangely enough considered as a “trade secret”.
In this situation when Albania is still on the waiting list of being supplied with vaccines, many ordinary people but also intellectuals, journalists and academics are talking more and more that Albania should look for a second or third opportunity for vaccination of the population.
Serbia has received vaccines from Pfizer- (USA), Sinopharma (China) and Sputnik-V (Russia), and has even suggested that the Serbian people can choose which vaccine they want to be vaccinated with.
The opposite happened at the end of December 2020 in Albania when Prime Minister Edi Rama immediately rejected even an offer to negotiate with the Russian Company for the Sputnik-V vaccine.
However, in this situation with many unknowns, it seems that Albanians are becoming conscious of the situation.
Well-known academician Apollon Baçe, invited to a show on RTSH TV, has said that in fact the Prime Minister Edi Rama made a mistake by refusing to bring this vaccine to Albania. According to Bace, while German Chancellor Angela Merkel asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to receive this vaccine from Russia then why Rama refuses to the offer.
Academician Apollon Baçe said that the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V” was introduced in Albania illegally and several people had it.
“I have accurate information that the Russian “Sputnik” vaccine has entered Albania illegally and some people have got it,” said Baçe but without giving other details.
“I can not give more details but I have very accurate information,” he added. The academic added that in fact the Prime Minister Edi Rama made a mistake by refusing to bring this vaccine to Albania.
According to him, while German Chancellor Angela Merkel asked Putin to receive this vaccine from Russia then why Rama refuses that Albania can be supplied with it. /argumentum.al
