TIRANA – Official Tirana is grateful to Croatia for building a strategic partnership with Albania, the excellent political relations, supporting Albania’s European journey, especially during the Croatian Presidency of the EU and expanding economic and commercial cooperation, which should respond to political cooperation and friendship between the two countries.
This was declared by the Speaker of the Albanian Assembly, Lindita Nikolla to the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković in a meeting in Zagreb held on Monday in the frame of her official visit to Croatia. Nikolla pointed out Albania’s willingness to promote economic cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture, energy, investment legislation and European integration, etc. Nikolla mentioned some concrete possible cooperation projects such as the establishment of the direct flight Zagreb-Tirana, more carefully addressing the priorities of TAP, giving more support to the Adriatic-Ionian Gas Pipeline and the Blue Highway project, as support for the development of sustainable regional tourism.
Prime Minister Plenković appreciated the strategic partnership between the two countries and pointed out that the government of Croatia considers the economic cooperation with Albania very important and the cooperation indicators are increasing.
With investments and projects in the field of transport and infrastructure, we are creating an impulsive corridor that promotes exchanges between our countries and regional cooperation, he said.
Croatia will continue its strong support for Albania’s accession to the EU and will help the negotiation process with its successful experience.
Croatia and Albania hold the same positions on regional development priorities. Croatia appreciates Albania’s stance in support of Ukraine and the two countries maintain clear and open positions for the protection of peace and security and give messages of emancipation and peace to the international community.
