TIRANA, October 26 – Prime Minister Edi Rama has congratulated Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti for accepting the EU’s proposal to move decisively towards an unblocking solution regarding the Association of Serb communities in the north of the country through self-management instruments as a framework for the next negotiations.
“This is a really key point. The leaders of Kosovo and Serbia must show leadership and work closely without any further delay with the western allies of the region to immediately implement the Basic Agreement on the normalization of relations,” Rama said in a post on social networks on Thursday.
“Our region deserves peace, stability and cooperation for a common future,” said Prime Minister Rama.
The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, completed the planned meetings with the European leaders, within the framework of an EU summit in Brussels on Thursday. There was no meeting with Serb President Aleksandar Vucic.
The EU spokesman, Peter Stano, said earlier that the meetings are a continuation of the process that began last weekend, when the so-called “big five” of Western envoys visited Pristina and Belgrade during which they presented a “modern European proposal” for the Association statute. /argumentum.al
