TIRANA, November 22 – “The Albanian language is not my mother tongue, but the Albanian language is the language of my brothers,” said the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski at the solemn Academy on the occasion of the 114th anniversary of the Day of the Alphabet of the Albanian Language in Skopje on Tuesday.
Kovacevski said that the acceptance of languages in the state is a European value. “Today I am here first of all aware of how important the Macedonian language and the alphabet are to me and what an honor I have when my language is accepted. Due to this I show the same honor for every language that is not my mother tongue
every time,” said Kovacevski.
According to him, language is not only a means of communication with which we understand each other, but it is part of our identity and genetic code.
“The act of approving and respecting languages shows a European, civilizing and progressive way of functioning in the world,” said Prime Minister Kovacevski. The Congress of Manastir or Alphabet Congress was held from November 14-22, 1908, which decided on the unification of the alphabet of the Albanian language. /Argumentum.al
