“The anti- Covid vaccination process has been smooth and has proceeded in the best way since its start. The medical and support staff of the first line went to were the premises of the stadium “Air Albania”. So far we have not had any unwanted effect after the injection,” said the specialist of the vaccination campaign “Albania smiles”, Iria Preza in a talk show on a local TV on Friday. She noted there were no doctors who refused to get vaccinated but we had cases of contraindications and they did not have the vaccine.
Preza announced the process will continue over the weekend.
“In the first days, as it has been said, we started with the district of Tirana and when the other quantities of vaccines that are planned come, we will continue to spread throughout Albania, continuing to Vlora and Shkodra to enable the vaccination of all vulnerable groups,” she said.
But the senior official of the Democratic Party (DP), Tritan Shehu is worried that the vaccination process as the final termination of the epidemic is very slow and delayed due to poor management by PM Edi Rama.
“Our country needs about 5.5 M of doses in the field. Rama lost months without contracting with companies and EU countries. Time is paid with ‘Life, Health and Economy’. As (EU Ambassador Luigi )Soreca has stated, Albania still does not have a “Vaccination Program” to be assisted by the EU and Covax. There is only propaganda with 970 doses of no origin, lack of evidence of drug safety in Albania, which seeks to hide the complete failure of epidemic management,” said Shehu, a former health minister.
DP’s senior official predicted that the coming months will be difficult, but this government now only intends to postpone its cheating until April 25.
