TIRANA, October 24 – The strategic partnership dialogue between Albania and the USA will take place for the first time in an expanded format with representatives from 8 line ministries and structures on Tuesday in Washington DC.
The Albanian delegation is led by the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka, and the American one by the assistant secretary of state for Europe and Eurasia, Karen Donfried. The American Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken, will join part of the discussions of this Dialogue.
There are representatives at a high level from the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Ministry of Justice, etc. and from DASH, the Department of Defense, trade, etc. in the composition of the delegations for the first time.
The US Department of State will be represented by Assistant Secretary of State Donfried, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Escobar, Deputy Secretary of Defense, etc. The dialogue aims to deepen and expand the strategic partnership between Albania and the US and strengthen cooperation in areas of geostrategic importance such as: security, cyber protection, cooperation within the Security Council, energy, transport, climate, digital transformation, etc.
The exchange of opinions and positions on common challenges in the field of security as a result of developments in the international arena will also be touched upon during the dialogue.
The strategic partnership dialogue is held on the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Albania and the US. /Argumentum.al
