Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyci visited on Saturday the Tirana International Fair which reflects a Balkans without economic borders, where he declared that countries that have not joined the Open Balkans initiative have burned a great opportunity.
After visiting pavilions from Kosovo, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bytyci told News 24 that the fair best represents cooperation such as the Open Balkan initiative and a new era of development in the region.
This fair is a clear proof of the Open Balkan initiative and the goal that “Open Balkans” has, he said, adding that, unfortunately, people in the Western Balkans do not focus on the goal itself. “The goal of Open Balkan is to increase regional and business competitiveness,” he said.
Accordim to him, the moment will come when all regional countries become part of the European Union, when maybe those who will not be part of “Open Balkan” will say why they did not do it a few years ago because it would be a missed opportunity. The “open Balkans”, according to the Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia, will bring a better future for the economies of the three initiating countries.
Next week, North Macedonia will sign an agreement with Albania on customs facilitation, zeroing on bureaucratic hurdles so far. / Argumentum.al
