The director of the Institute of Public Health, Eugena Tomini said that the vaccine coverage nationwide is 49% in Albania.
“Vaccine coverage is 49% with a single dose with two doses is 45%. To be vaccinated is an advice as the season still goes on and to prepare for the fall season of 2022,” said Tomini at the meeting of the Technical Committee of Experts gathered on Friday.
According to doctor Najada Como, there is a decrease in the number of hospitalized. “We have a decrease in the number of hospitalized and we have 15-20 hospitalized cases. The number of patients is up to 3 cases. The most affected age group is 45-60 years old … The number of people who have passed away has decreased. Keep vaccinating, as it is a way to avoid the disease,” said Como. Regarding the new measures against the spread of coronavirus in the country, Deputy Minister of Health and Defense Mira Rakacolli said that the Committee has decided to lift the rule of gatherings of over 50 people in various scientific or sports activities.
The obligation for a vaccination passport or a pcr test within 72 hours or a quick test within 48 hours remains in force for persons traveling to Albania. Exceptions are children up to the age of 6 years. “Mask wearing continues to be forced in shopping malls, supermarkets or closed environments where social distancing is impossible,” said Rakacolli. /Argumentum.al
