TIRANA, August 18 – In addition to protests, citizens should go on strike as a way to oppose the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama, said in a meeting with citizens, the chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) Sali Berisha on Thursday.
“We have to stand up. I understand today there are tens of thousands of businesses that are going bankrupt. There is only one way, shutters should be closed and strikes must be organized. This government is a government that does not care about Albanian citizens,” said Berisha, a former PM.
According to him, there has never been a weaker prime minister than this man, and apart from deceiving the people every day, he shows cynicism and does not reflect anything, not even the most elementary notions. “He says that tourism is in the best situation. It is a deep appeal to citizens. We must talk to all those farmers who think like us but do not stand up. Let’s sit with them and talk. Many things we ignore because the list of hardships is endless and ignore them. This is our duty- to talk,” he said, adding that it is the duty of every farmer and every employee to stand up because there is a great existential danger. “Where are we going as a nation as 744,000 citizens have left the country in the last 6 years?” Berisha said.
In the meantime, the head of the organization of the Democratic Party, Klevis Balliu, has revealed in the “Opinion” column in News 24 TV on Thursday the next steps that this political force will follow to face the government of Edi Rama.
“Protests will be in all forms across the country. Here the question is not what DP will do, but what we will all do together. Violation of the free speech, of the different voices, violation of the pockets of Albanians. The price of oil continues to rise. Poverty is crossing the limits. Salaries and pensions do not increase, the youth are fleeing to emigration because they see no hope. Young people are fleeing the country in boats. This is the Albanian reality, so in this context everything is violated. The issue is not what I do or what you do. You can be left-wing, right-wing and without any political conviction, but today is the time for Albanians to show that they know how to distinguish the good from the evil,” said Salinjani. /Argumentum.al
