TIRANA, September 16 – “I am determined to change the vision and work methodology of police structures in order to establish a new standard in relation with citizens, partners and in the fight against organized crime,” the new General Director of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku told the German ambassador in Tirana, Peter Zingraf.
The focus of the meeting on Friday was the presentation and acquaintance of the ambassador with the priorities, objectives and vision that the new top police officer has for creating the most positive impact on citizens, the strategy in the fight against organized crime, as well as for the deepening of cooperation with international partners and in particular with strategic ones.
“We are creating human resource management mechanisms with the aim of eliminating abusiveness and arbitrariness, to give the police structures the opportunity to be led by professional and honest people, who will bring a change to the impact on the public, because I am convinced that perceptions and impacts are changed through work and results and not through names,” Rrumbullaku said. According to him, the strengthening of relations with partners, specifically with the BKA and the Federal Police of Germany will be deepened even more, based on mutual trust, professionalism and commitment to fight without compromise the criminal phenomena that are a global threat.
Rrumbullaku has succeeded Gledis Nano who was dismissed because of contradictions with the Interior Minister Bledi Cuci although the former was a protege of the US Embassy. /Argumentum.al
