TIRANA – With no more red or green areas and an Albania opened up in 99 percent of its capacities the country reported a decline in the number of coronavirus cases on Monday, with a total of six persons infected as compared to two digital figure over the last six days.
“Four new cases were found out in Tirana, one in Durres and one in Mat. Currently, 28 people are being treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 3 of whom are in intensive care, and one is intubated,” said Eugena Tomini, a specialist at the Public Health Institute on Monday.
Despite the increased trend of cases during the last week, the current situation appears stable, said Tomini.
“In the past day, 102 tests have been made at the Virology Laboratory at the Institute of Public Health, of which 6 cases have been confirmed, respectively 4 in Tirana (of which one is member of health personnel), 1 case in Durres, and 1 in Mat. In the last 24 hours, 5 citizens have recovered, bringing the number of recovered people to 877,” said ISHP’s Eugena Tomini in the daily update.
Such a balance sheet is unveiled as on June 1, another phase with eased measures amid coronavirus started in Albania.
Starting from Monday, there will be no more red or green areas,which means freedom of movement without time constraints. But there is still no decision on when public transport will open.
It is expected that swimming pools, theaters, cinemas, nightclubs, conferences and gatherings will be allowed after June 23rd.
Albania has already reopened stores, sent preschoolers back to kindergartens, and opened a myriad of other businesses.
The land borders will also be opened and the obligatory self-quarantine for 14 days has been removed, except when it is decided by the health authorities.
From June 6 onwards, beachgoers will have more public beaches available this tourist season, unlike in the past.
There is also good news for sports fans, as the football championship will start. /argumentum.al
