TIRANA – The former deputy of opposition Socialist Movement for Integration (SMI), Floida Kërpaçi has called on parents, students and teachers in Albania to put pressure on government institutions that have failed to take measures to protect health in schools.
Kërpaçi said in a post on social networks on Wednesday that teachers should come together and not accept the unfavorable conditions that affect their health and that of their families in the conditions of the rising spread of coronavirus in this Balkan country.
“It is the high time to reject any health risk and raise the voice,” she said on Wednesday.
The Minister of Education, Besa Shahini announced on Tuesday that schools throughout Albania will open on September 14 and that 87% of parents and students in the questionnaire had voted for something like this.
Schools in Albania were closed in March to open in May only in part for graduates, while in September all students will be admitted with promised measures against COVID-19.
“It is time for teachers to come together not to accept unfavorable working conditions that could put them at risk for their health and that of their families, as well as in conditions of increased stress,” the SMI official said./argumentum.al
