TIRANA, November 30 – In order to guarantee the safety of the 45 delegations of EU and Western Balkan leaders, who will participate in the Tirana summit, the government has decided to declare December 6 a day off only for the administration, educational institutions, but also private businesses in capital city Tirana.
According to the security scheme made public to the media on Wednesday, some roads will be blocked and entry to the capital will not be allowed during that day. The place of the Summit will be the hotel located in the tower of the Air Albania stadium, while the Italia square in front of it, as well as the lobby of the Palace of Congresses will serve for the positioning of over 400 journalists, who will attend the Summit, as well as for the press conferences scheduled during that day.
It is specified that the security perimeter extends from the Dajti hotel bridge to Dëshmorët e Kombit boulevard, including the road in front of Public Television, and all the roads around the stadium will be blocked and the traffic of vehicles and pedestrians will be prohibited.
The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, the President of the Commission, Von der Leyen, the presidents of Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, the representative of the government of Bosnia, as well as the Croatian Prime Minister will arrive in Tirana on December 5.
The Prime Minister of Croatia will use the Summit as an official visit and will have a joint press conference with Prime Minister Edi Rama.
The rest of the European leaders will arrive on the day of the Summit starting at 10:00 and will leave on Tuesday, December 6. The only one who will stay in Tirana is Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, who after the Summit will have a conference with Prime Minister Rama as he will use his arrival in Tirana as an official visit. /Argumentum.al
