The Chief Advisor of Christian Democratic Union (CDU) of Germany, Martin Henze, has been harsh on the attempt of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama to break the accord on electoral reform achieved by political forces thanks to the mediation of the international factor.
In a comment posted on Twitter on Sunday Henze, a harsh critic of Rama and the Socialist Party led by him, said a break of the accord threatens the elected opposition, and thus the USA and the EU. “A NO GO, Mr Rama,” the German politician warned in his comment which follows: “An electoral law has been agreed with the elected opposition, USA, EU, against the background of the election rigging of the ruling party Rama in 2017 and the undemocratic local elections in 2019.
“Now the government of Rama, illegal opposition in the parliament does not keep to the agreed change of the election law, wants to break the constitution and threatens the elected opposition, and thus the USA, the EU. A NO GO, Mr Rama.”
Earlier in a talk show on a local TV the US Ambassador, Yuri Kim declared that the agreement on electoral reform of June 5th has to go through as it is.
‘You can’t open that back up. You can’t do it because that would be a violation of a lot of trust. And, I think, if you give your word, as a politician, as a diplomat. If you don’t keep your word, you have nothing. So, I have every expectation that leaders here will do exactly what they told me they were going to do, which is that they’re going to pass June 5th. Now, I’m also aware that for many people, June 5th is not enough,” said Ambassador Kim./argumentum.al
