TIRANA – Deputy Prime Minister Erion Brace has responded to the debate launched by the extra parliamentary opposition on the law “On Regional Development and Cohesion” describing those who oppose it as ‘illiterate’ people.
According to the number 2 of the government quoted by daily Panorama on Saturday, the law is a legislative improvement for an area where the institution for economic development of the regions has been established since 6 years ago. In a brief statement, Brace stressed that the law only improves the standard of legality in this field.
He said that as he had explained to the deputies in Parliament, but also as stated in the report very clearly, the law regulates an aspect that so far has been regulated with a decision of the Council of Ministers.
“I have no attitude to the reactions of people who do not know or read and live with paranoia that has a family behavior character. The law is very clear. Furthermore, we have set up an instrument that has been operating by a government decision for six years. Now it operates by a law,” said the Deputy PM, who added that he did not intend to deal with people who do not have training.
Meanwhile, Brace had clarified earlier that the latest legal initiative passed by Parliament which divides Albania in 4 regions did not interfere in the finances of municipalities. According to him, the law was drafted in cooperation with international partners and increases local government revenue.
“The accusations raised by the extra-parliamentary opposition are entirely for electoral purposes made by people who suffer from the paranoia of losing the next elections,” said the Deputy PM. /argumentum.al
