TIRANA – The meeting between Kosovo and Serbia leaders will be held on September 4 which has been officially confirmed by a senior US official.
Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Strategic Communications at National Security Council, John Ullyot, has confirmed exclusively for the Express newspaper that the meeting between Kosovo and Serbia scheduled for September 2 in Washington has been postponed to September 4.
“National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien has invited the leaders of Serbia and Kosovo to Washington on September 4. The talks have been postponed due to the agenda,” he told the Express newspaper on Saturday.
In addition Ullyot said that the US is keen on the continuation of the talks, specifying that economic topics are the basis for advancing the peace process between Kosovo and Serbia.
“The United States is looking forward to these important talks between President Vucic and Prime Minister Hoti. We believe that progress in the economy, including the creation of new jobs and the promotion of economic growth, are the first steps towards advancing the peace process,” said the senior US diplomat. /argumentum.al
