TIRANA, April 19 – The 43rd meeting of the police of European capitals, which started its deliberations in Tirana on Wednesday, gathered directors of 24 police of the capitals of European countries, who were greeted by the Minister of Interior Bledi Çuçi.
“I consider this platform an excellent opportunity to discuss how we can coordinate work with each other to increase the cohesion of efforts to serve citizens in our respective countries, and thus across the European continent,” said Çuçi in his speech.
He mentioned the fact that Albania is the first country in the Western Balkans to sign the agreement with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX), which continues to be very successful in managing the border and migratory flows directed to the external borders of the European Union.
Çuçi said that European countries are living in a dynamic world with fluid borders, with hybrid risks and in rapid evolution, where even organized crime is an actor that knows no state or passport.
“A phenomenon of this magnitude can only be fought if we coordinate our forces and capacities in the same way, without borders and passports,” the top police said, unveiling the challenges of the Albanian State Police, emphasizing the necessity of technology for growth of quality and the reduction of criminality.
Cybercrime is turning into a new, highly sophisticated form that is challenging law enforcement agencies every day and threatens the safety of citizens, and even the Albanian State Police was not immune to this type of cyber aggression. “That’s why we have started a new and difficult stage of cyber defense investments,” said the minister. /Argumentum.al
